The famous Wink Kittens will be in lively action on TV screens to enthrall 8 million pairs of eyeballs. A set of new, customized commercials, commissioned by Wink Bingo, are being aired.
In the new commercials, the Wink kittens are shown watching a TV show on an old black and white television. The programme does not hold their attention and the kittens in their distinctive pink collars, flip channels to find an ad announcing Wink Bingo sponsoring Harry Hill’s TV Burp.
The TV shows that the kitties are watching star the Wink Fruities, starring for the first time in a commercial themselves. Five of the Wink Fruities that are seen regularly on the Wink Bingo website are featured in these new indents or short commercials. These are the lemon, plum, apple, pear and cherry. The Fruities have been hand-made for these indents using foam, fabric, glue and coloured clay.
The kittens were a complete handful! 5 tabby kittens from one litter were used. They were too little to train and the frisky little fellows were very curious and wandered off the set at every chance. A special kitten sized set was constructed with scaled down props like the sofa, the TV set, etc., to suit the kittens’ size. A trainer dangled interesting objects, shiny and noisy things to engage the kittens’ attention as they were being filmed. The kittens were very well cared for with a vet on standby and a dressing room to rest in.
These new Wink Bingo advertisements were made specially to be aired along with Harry Hill’s TV Burp. This iconic comic has won numerous TV awards including four BAFTAs and two British Comedy Awards. Wink Bingo has zeroed in on one more hit TV show to be associated with guaranteeing itself of maximum exposure as the sponsor. The Wink Bingo brand name is widely recognized and, having sponsored other popular TV shows in the past, is one that will often be seen on TV screens all over Britain.
